Darlene Marie Needham, 68 years, of Red Lake and the Bear Clan, with her family at her side, went home to be with her Lord and Savior from Sanford Health Palliative Care Unit in Fargo, North Dakota on November 23, 2015. She was born the daughter of Margaret Rose (Spears) and Elmer Robert Lussier Sr. on July 9th, 1947 in Red Lake, Minnesota.

Darlene was a very supportive woman who was always there for everyone in their times of need. She had a great sense of humor who loved being at family gatherings and visiting the casino. Darlene liked watching T.V. game shows, especially the "Price is Right" and she enjoyed playing video yahtzee. She was a gifted and creative artist who loved sketching and painting. Darlene worked as a child care worker both for a center and for family that needed her. Darlene was a wonderful cook who was always baking bread, cookies and bars for everyone. She was known for her head cheese recipe. Darlene was a devoted Christian who always read her bible. She will be missed by all of us.

Family that Darlene joins are her mother and father; Margaret and Elmer Sr., brothers; Wayne Lussier Sr. and Elmer Lussier Jr., daughter; Rose Marweg and granddaughter Latasha Kingbird.

She leaves behind her children; Naomi (Doug) Kingbird, Daryl 'Doovie' Spears and Todd Marweg, brothers; Skidge (Eldora) Lussier Sr. and Gilbert Lussier Sr., sisters; Roberta 'Bobbie' Ann Lussier, Nonny (Ron) Sigana, Leslie (Tim) Stone, Linda Lussier, Maysa Lussier and Debbie Reynolds, special sister; Katie Pierre, grandchildren; Sayzie, Beau, McKinzy, Sharae, Alicia, Dylan, Daniel, Taylor, Devon, Seth and Zack, great grandchildren; Vincent, Daunte, Dovonte, Ayasha, Landon, Trayson, Taleigha, Shariah, Christian and Chelli and many other relatives and friends.

A wake for Darlene will begin at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, November 28th at the Old Little Rock Community Center in Red Lake and continue until her 2:00 p.m. funeral service at St. Mary's Catholic Church also in Red Lake on Monday, November 30th. Father Jerry Rogers will officiate. Helping to lay Darlene to rest are Ole Spears, Geoff Pierre, Doug Kingbird, Dylan Johnson, Ron Sigana, Vincent White Sr., Brandon Lussier and Brent Sigana Sr. Her honorary pallbearers are Wayne Lussier Jr., Robert Lussier Jr., Vincent White Jr., Daunte White, Frances Johnson and Diane Graves. Interment will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery at Red Lake following her Monday service.
