Gloria J. "B1" Drift, 64, Nett Lake, passed away on Monday, November 16, 2015, at Essentia Health-St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth.

She was born on July 16, 1951 in Nett Lake. Her parents were James Drift Sr. and Ida Canada. She grew up in Nett Lake, then moved to Duluth where she resided for many years. She was affectionately known to many as "B1" (as in bingo terms). She moved back to Nett Lake, where she lived the past 30 years.

Gloria "B1" was talented at beadwork, and made numerous items, including specialized earrings for family and friends. She liked gambling at "The Bay" and enjoyed playing card games with friends.

She had memorable times traveling with the Elders to many historic places, usually accompanied with her sister Rose. She was a member of the Bois Forte Band of Chippewa.

Gloria "B1" liked kids, and they all just loved being with her. She will be sadly missed but not forgotten.

She is survived by 2 sisters, Helen Drift and Rose Lien, both of Nett Lake; along with numerous nieces, nephews who dearly loved her.

SERVICES: Traditional Tribal Services will be at 10:00 AM Friday (Nov. 20th) at the Bois Forte Government and Services Center in Nett Lake. The Wake will begin after 5:00 PM Thursday at the center. Kenneth Boney will be the Spiritual Leader. Interment will be in the Nett Lake Village Cemetery.
