Ida Rose Blackcloud, "Ikwe" which means "Woman", of the Bear "Makwa" Clan and the Red Lake Band of Chippewa, age 48, of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota began her spiritual journey on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 from her home. Ida was born on April 28, 1967 in Red Lake, MN the daughter of Ronald Cloud and Gladys Black.

Ida was an avid athlete most of her life. In high school she played joined basketball, volleyball and softball. She continued to play summer league softball after school for many years. Ida enjoyed being with and hanging out with friends and family. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. Ida liked spending time on the computer, she played games and loved being on Facebook. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.

Ida was welcomed home by her husband; Benjamin Blackcloud, Sr., her parents; Ronald and Gladys, her step father; George Maxwell Sr., brother; Marvin Black, sister; Iris June Desjarlait, grandparents; Phillip and Alice Fineday, grandmother; Fannie Wind, other aunts and uncles.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons; Jayshawn (Chels) Roberts of Redby, Benjamin Jr., Dakota and Davis Cloud all of Red Lake, daughters; Porsha Roberts of Redby, Irene and Clarissa Cloud of Red Lake, brothers; Marlyn (Emma) Black Sr. of Ponemah, George Maxwell Jr. of Redby, Julius Maxwell Sr. of Red Lake, Kelly Maxwell of Arkansas, Kordell Black of Bemidji and Lonny Desjarlait Sr. of Red Lake, grandson; Tristan White, aunts; Freida and Annie Fineday and Deborah Cloud, uncles; Robert and Phillip Fineday and Peter Black, nieces; Chelsey Nelson, Maria Desjarlait, Messiah, Kellida and Emanuella Maxwell, nephews; Marlyn Jr., Marvin and Marty Black, Julius Maxwell Jr. and Lonny Desjarlait Jr., cousins and many friends.

A wake for Ida will begin at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 31st and continue until her traditional service at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 2nd all being held at the Boys and Girls Club in Ponemah, MN. Steve Jackson will be her spiritual leader. Pallbearers for Ida will be George Maxwell Jr., Jayshawn Roberts, Julius Maxwell Jr., Benjamin Cloud Jr., Dakota Cloud and Peter Thomas. Alternate pallbearers will be Marlyn Black Sr., Julius Maxwell Sr. and Lonny Desjarlait Sr. Her honorary pallbearers are Debbie Cloud, Gloria Cloud, Freida Fineday, Annie Fineday, Carol Spears, Carene Fineday, Vickey Fineday, Diane Howard, Marlys Schoenborn, Beverly Black, Candy Thomas, Alesha Thomas, Deidra Cloud and Emmaline Roaneagle. Interment will be in the Family Burial Grounds at Ponemah following her Monday service.
