MISSING PERSON LOCATED BELTRAMI COUNTY

The Beltrami County Sheriff's Office initiated a search for a missing Beltrami County resident, Crystal Green, age 32, on Friday, October 9, 2016. The search began at 8:00 AM with a briefing and progressed to a grid search starting at her residence in the 38000 block of Corral Rd NE, Kelliher, MN, located approximately 52 miles north of Bemidji. A number of volunteers and other agencies assisted with the search.

At 11:20 AM, Ms. Green's body was discovered in a cornfield approximately 2/3 of a mile from her residence, an apparent victim of hypothermia.

Her body was transported to the Sanford Bemidji Hospital where the Beltrami County Coroner's Office will be working to establish and determine the cause and manner of her death.

Assisting the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office Field Operations and Investigations Division were family members, a number of volunteers to include the Kelliher Fire Department, Kelliher Fire First Responders, Beltrami County Mounted Posse, the Paul Bunyan Amateur Radio Club with the Emergency Communications Center, Salvation Army, Red Cross and a number of private citizens. In addition, units from Beltrami County Emergency Management, Beltrami County Emergency Communications, Blackduck Ambulance, United States Border Patrol (both ground and air), the Minnesota State Patrol Air (ground and air) and DNR Enforcement were on scene and involved in the search.

The Beltrami County Sheriff's Office would like to particularly thank the Kelliher Fire/First Responders as well as the citizens of Kelliher who made a tremendous impact in assisting both the family and our Officers during this difficult time.
