Leo Jack Kingbird, Sr. age 32, of Ponemah, began his spiritual journey on Tuesday, September 22, 2015. He was born in Red Lake on October 28, 1982 the son of Harold, Sr. and Sharon (Stillday) Kingbird.

Leo worked various jobs which included the Indus Sawmill, the fisheries, cooking at Seven Clans Casino in Thief River Falls, and construction working in Fargo. His hobbies were fishing, playing basketball, and hanging out with family and friends. He loved all his children, biking and joking around.

Leo's family who he joins again are his grandparents; Jack and Lucille Kingbird and Joyce Black, cousins; Thurlene Stillday, Lavan Stillday, and Stephanie Caldwell.

Those he leaves behind to cherish his memory are his parents; Sharon and Harold Kingbird, Sr. , his children; Trisha, Leo Jr., Kent, Frank, Natalya, and Kayleen (Chum) all of Ponemah. One son Gary from Onigum, special sister Kara Stillday, brothers; Shane of Fargo, Harold, Jr. (Darchelle) of Redby, Jeremiah (Gennie) from Ponemah, numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A wake for Leo will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 25, 2015 and will continue until the 10:00 a.m. service on Sunday, September 27, all held at the Boys and Girls Club in Ponemah. Spiritual advisor will be Mike Dahl. Pallbearers for Leo will be Jeremiah Kingbird, Shane Stillday, Lorenzo White, Elbert White, Jr., Dewayne Dow, Daryl Beaulieu, Jr., Brian Brun, Sr. and Dustin Stillday. Alternate pallbearer is Lowery Stillday, Sr. Honorary pallbearers are Tyann Stillday, Aunt Carol Spears, Kara Stillday and all his grade school buddies. Interment will be held in the Kingbird family burial grounds in Ponemah following the service.
