David Reginald Brown, Sr., age 82, of Red Lake, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at the Sanford Hospital in Bemidji. He was born on September 23, 1932 in Red Lake the son of Julius and Susan (Dickenson) Brown.

David worked as a correctional officer all his life. He worked in New Mexico, Michigan, and in Red Lake before he retired in 1999. David was always smiling and he gained enjoyment from having family and other people over to visit. He will be missed by all his family and friends.

The family that David joins again are his parents; Susan McGraw and Julius Brown, his wife Alice, son; Julius, daughters; Dorla and Angela, and one sister; Mary Rose Forichette.

Those he leaves behind to cherish his memory are his sons; Bruce Roy, Wayne Brown, Dave Brown, Jr., Earl (Lisa) Brown, and Patrick Brown all of Red Lake, daughters; Ramona Brown and Carol Brown both of Red Lake, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

An outdoor celebration of life will be held at the Brown Family Burial Grounds at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2015. In case of inclement weather, the alternate site will be the Little Rock Community Center in Red Lake. David's first cousin, Pastor Tim Brown will officiate the service. There will be a feast and inurnment all held at the cemetery. All of David's grandchildren and great grandchildren will be honorary pallbearers.
