Donald Gene Silverstar, Sr., 59, of Redby, passed away Saturday, August 1, 2015 in Red Lake, Minnesota. Don was born January 7, 1956 in Standing Rock, South Dakota to Melvin and Beatrice (Cottonwood) Eagle.

Don was a fun guy with a great sense of humor. He loved joking around and making people laugh. He was always trying to give people a hard time. Everyone had a "Don" story... Don loved and was always involved in sports of any kind. He coached, umpired and managed several leagues and teams. One of Don's favorite things to do was going to the casino to gamble and socialize. He was a great Dad who loved spending time with his son and daughter, always taking them out to do things. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who know him.

Those who went on before Don are his birth parents; Melvin and Beatrice, significant other and love of his life; Patricia Prentice, father; Walter Gaye, brother; Cleatus Eagle and sister; Marilyn Eagle.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his son; Donald Silverstar, Jr. of Redby, daughters; Alaina (Phillip Lussier) Prentice of Redby and Amanda Merrill of Turtle Lake, WI, brothers; Ronald Garrett of CA, sisters; June and Jennifer Eagle both of Bismarck, ND, Madonna Gaye and Debra Gorres both of Moorhead and Janelle Jones of Moose Lake, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, other relatives and many, many friends.

A wake for Donald will begin at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 4th at the Redby Community Center and continue until his 12:00 p.m. funeral service on, Thursday, August 6th at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Red Lake. Father Jerry Rogers will officiate. Don's pallbearers are Sheldon Hill, B.J. Graves, Phillip Lussier, Chad Prentice, Charles Prentice, Jr., Mike Fairbanks and Charlie Charnoski, Jr. His honorary pallbearers will be all his good friends. Cremation will take place following Don's services with inurnment to be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
