Federal judge rules on 4 evidence motions in Standing Rock Indian Reservation slaying case

FORT YATES, North Dakota — A federal judge overseeing a homicide case on the Standing Rock Indian Reservation in the Dakotas has granted two defense requests regarding evidence but denied two others.

Ryan Ironroad, of Cannon Ball, faces charges of murder and assault with a dangerous weapon in the November 2014 stabbing death of his 29-year-old cousin, Clay Hagel, of Fort Yates. Ironroad is accused of stabbing Hagel in the stomach during an attempted robbery.
