Chickasaw Nation to host Native American Art Market

TISHOMINGO, Okla.- The Chickasaw Nation is hosting a Native American Art Market from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8., on the grounds of the historic Chickasaw Nation Capitol.

The Art Market will feature handmade arts and crafts from Southeastern and Woodlands Native American artists.

In addition to the art exhibit, families can enjoy fun activities like a corn husk doll making class, paintball art and other attractions.

Adults and children will have the opportunity to participate in a painting class and art competition called “Cookies and Canvas” from 10 a.m. to noon.

The event is open to the public at no charge. A complementary meal will be served from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

The historic Chickasaw Nation Capitol grounds are located at N. Fisher and Eighth Street in Tishomingo.
