BEMIDJI—Aging facilities and a changing liquor market were deciding factors in the Bemidji City Council moving forward with a feasibility study regarding the town's two municipal stores.
According to Finance Director Ron Eischens, the city's north shop, Discount Liquor, recently experienced a refrigeration system failure that required $8,000 in repairs. In addition, the cooler doors and shelving in the store likely will need replacement in the near future, with costs estimated in the $50,000 range.
