Warrant issued for Cass Lake man who held woman hostage

CASS LAKE—A warrant has been issued for a Cass Lake man who faces 14 felony charges after he allegedly barricaded himself and a female hostage inside a Cass County residence in August.

Christopher Harrison Morris, 32, was taken into custody Aug. 20 by the Cass County Sheriff's Office after a lengthy negotiation, according to a release from the Cass County Sheriff's Office, which named Morris as Christopher Morris-Headbird. Morris was in possession of a firearm while the hostage was with him inside the residence.

Morris failed to appear at a review hearing June 29 in Cass County District Court resulting in a warrant for his arrest. Morris faces charges of: felon in possession of a firearm, two counts of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, false imprisonment, terroristic threats and nine counts of use of deadly force against a peace officer.
