Ring road deal means $60,000 for each Tsuu T'ina resident

Each registered member of Tsuu T’ina Nation will soon receive roughly $60,000 as part of the province’s Southwest Ring Road deal.

Meanwhile, the federal government has activated a May 2022 deadline, at which point the province must either have the section operational, or turn back the land it purchased from the nation.

The nation announced in a Friday news release that “all Tsuu T’ina citizens over the age of 18 will receive an equal share of half of the proceeds of the money received from the transfer of land for the Southwest Ring Road project. Exact amounts will be subject to final population calculations and will be reported to Tsuu T’ina citizens.”
