Cass Lake man charged with molesting 8-year-old girl

BEMIDJI—A Cass Lake man appeared in Beltrami County District Court on Monday facing two counts of criminal sexual conduct after he was accused in May of sexually assaulting an 8-year-old Bemidji girl.

Kyle James Johnson, 29, was arrested May 22 after the girl told her mother and grandmother Johnson had molested her on several occasions in the past year, according to a statement of probable cause.

Contact included inappropriate touching of the girl with Johnson's hand and other body parts, court documents said. He was known to his victim.
