The Red Lake School District #38 is seeking candidates to fill a vacant Security Guard position.
Terms of Employment: Wages and benefits per MSEA Master Agreement
Assignment: To be determined
Minimum Education and/or Experience Required
1. Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D.
2. Prior experience or training preferred.
3. Knowledge of District and school building policies, rules and regulations. Federal, State and Tribal law.
Position overview to include but not limited to:
1. To protect school district property, staff, students and general public against fire, theft, vandalism and
illegal entry.
2. Screen every student, staff, visitor for weapons or other prohibited items using metal detectors and/or
electronic wands
3. Sign visitors into and out of the building and assist them in finding their destination
4. Monitor security cameras as assigned
5. Patrol hallways as assigned
6. Continuously cover assigned location
7. Check and monitor all doors are secure as assigned and/or scheduled
8. Escort student(s) as necessary to detention, ISS or as applicable
9. Be vigilant for gang signs or activity
10. Work with law enforcement
11. Use Crisis Intervention Training to control fights or other student misbehavior
12. Participate in drills, taking charge and directing others, as necessary
13. Write reports
14. Use professional behavior and language
15. Patrol bus departures and monitor student crossing guards as assigned
16. Other duties as assigned by supervisor or building adminstrator
