Feds silent on Spirit Lake Indian Reservation shooting

FORT TOTTEN, N.D. — Police and the FBI are offering no new details on an officer-involved shooting from Tuesday night on Spirit Lake Indian Reservation in northeast North Dakota, but residents are mourning the death of a family member.

Spirit Lake Chairwoman Myra Pearson said even she couldn’t get any information from police about the incident, which is under investigation by the FBI.

Relatives have taken to Facebook to remember Joe Charboneau, the man killed in the shooting involving a Spirit Lake police officer.
