WHY: On the anniversary of D-Day, Legacies Alive will sponsor Chris Ring, a Navy combat veteran, as he becomes the 1st American to swim the entire length of the Mississippi River in honor of our fallen heroes from Iraq and Afghanistan. Chris will swim 16 miles a day, covering 3,760+ kilometers symbolizing the number of spouses whose husband or wife laid down their life for our freedom.
