Two dead of apparent gunshot wounds in Cass County

BEMIDJI -- The Cass County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the deaths of two men in Onigum near Walker.

At 7:18 p.m. Tuesday, the sheriff’s office received a call for medical assistance in the 8700 block of Midway Drive Northwest in Onigum, a small unincorporated community across Walker Bay from the city of Walker.

When officers and medical personnel arrived, they found two adult male victims with apparent gunshot wounds requiring immediate medical attention, according to a release from the sheriff’s office. One adult male, age 57, was transported via North AirCare to a Fargo hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, the release said. The other male victim, age 60, was pronounced dead at the scene.
