Vivian Kathleen Lawrence, 76, of Red Lake, Minnesota and the Turtle Clan, began her journey through the spirit world on May 9, 2015 at Essentia Health in Fargo surrounded by family and friends. She was born on May 2, 1939 in Red Lake to Antoine and Louise (Tallchief) Berrard.

Vivian grew up in Redby, Minnesota and went to school in Red Lake. She attended the Mission School and in later high school years she attended Lincoln High School in Tacoma, Washington, where her father had relocated. As a child, Vivian liked to do dishes around Redby to earn 10 cents to see a movie at the old show hall. She became a lifelong movie buff. Accumulating filmography on obscure actors such as Dan Duryea and Yvonne DeCarlo, who not many people realized was known as Queen of the B's (Queen of the B movies) before becoming known for her role as Lily Munster on the TV show The Munsters. Vivian liked to travel and drive. She liked the Rocky Mountains, the Cascade Mountains and Puget Sound from her teenage years, and later years, from growing up there. After high school, Vivian received her diploma from Haskell Indian High School and Trade School as a Linotype operator, working for the newspaper in Isle, MN, Flour City Press, Minneapolis Star, St. Paul Tribune, then Minneapolis-St. Paul Star and Tribune, Tacoma News Tribune and then creating the Red Lake Nations first newspaper in 1991. Vivian retired in 2006 from the Red Lake Nations Newspaper.

Vivian leaves behind her daughter Jo Tallchief, furry "grandchildren" Baby Lou, Sharkey, Snoogle and Flopsy, brothers; Ellsworth Berrard of Red Lake and Elliot Berrard of Chicago, IL, 10 nieces, three nephews and numerous grand nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind Almeda Strong, a very dear friend from high school and numerous other friends and acquaintances.

Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, husband Reginald Lawrence, sister; Juanita Holstein, one infant sister, brothers Eugene and Wallace Brown and Wilfred Berrard and niece Carol (Holstein) Holland.

A wake for Vivian will begin at 3:00 p.m., Monday, May 11th at the Redby Community Center in Redby and continue until her 11:00 a.m. service on Tuesday, May 12th at the Redby Community Church also in Redby. Pastor Tom Pollock will officiate. Pallbearers for Vivian are Wallace Holstein, Jeremy Holstein, David Bedeau, Brent Pemberton, Sr., William "Boo" Chaboyea and Fabian Kingbird. Her honorary pallbearers are Almeda Strong, Carol Cloud, Becky Pollock and all her nieces and nephews. Cremation will take place following Vivian's services with ashes to remain with the family.
