David Brian Donnell, Sr. age 52, of Redby, passed away at his home in Redby on Thursday, May 7th, 2015. He was born on July 10, 1962 in Red Lake, the son of Lyle Sr. and Darlene (Sayers) Donnell.

David worked for Red Lake Builders and later became a member of the Red Lake Housing Board. In 1995 along with his father, Donnell Plumbing was established. He was actively remodeling and preparing homes for Red Lake families until his passing. He had a strong passion for sports, namely softball. His time spent as a Redby Redskin and MN Chipps earned him the status as one of the best to play the game. Spending time with his family and close friends brought great enjoyment. His children would be his ultimate pride and joy.

David is survived by his parents, children; Brian Maxwell, Crystal Donnell, Shannon Stately, Quaylena, David Jr., and Valerie Donnell, grandchildren; Xavier, Matthew, Whitney, Courtney, Jeremiah, Nicole, Ayiana, Hailey, Briana, brothers; Charles, Jeffrey Sr. (Jolyn), Bobby (Delayna) Donnell and one sister Vicki Donnell. Special aunt Peggy Young, uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and many cousins.

He is preceded in death by his son; Duane Maxwell, brother Lyle "Choo" Donnell, granddaughter Giselle Stately, six uncles, two aunts, and his grandparents.

A wake service for David will begin at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 12, 2015 and will continue until the 11:00 a.m. service on Thursday all at the Red Lake Humanities Building in Red Lake. Father Jerry Rogers will officiate. Pallbearers will be David Donnell, Jr., Brian Maxwell, Charles, Jeffrey, Sr., Bobby, Sr., Corey and Jeffrey, Jr. Donnell, and Robert Jourdain. Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph Graves, Roger Strong, Peggy Young, Matt Graves, Vicki Graves, Scott Jourdain, Sherri May, Vicki Donnell, all his nieces and nephews. Interment will be held in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery following the service.
