Harold "Art" Gerard Diver, Sr., "GAGIIBISH", "Cookum Lupper", age 77 of Cloquet, MN, passed away at his home on Monday, April 27, 2015. He was born on April 14, 1938 in Cloquet, the son of John Diver, Sr. and Agnes (Woods) Diver.

Art was a caring man who loved to go fishing, hunting, camping and going to Ceremonial Dances. He also cherished spending time with his family, friends, and grandkids. He truly loved his family and was a foster parent for many years. Art enjoyed working and it showed as he spent 22 years at Potlatch, and another 15 years as security for the Black Bear Casino.

Family he joins again are his parents; John and Agnes, his former wife Rose Diver and life long friend and mother of his children, Linda Shabaiash, brothers; Ernie, Dana, and John, Sr., sisters; Beverly, Bernadette, Elizabeth and Eleanor.

Those he leaves behind to cherish his memory include his sons; Harold, Jr. (Beth), Darwin, and Douglas (Nicky) Diver all of Cloquet, daughters; Deborah (Dan Tiessen) of Cambridge, Doreen (Kevin) Diver of Cloquet, Darla (Charles) Badmoccasin of Cloquet, and Margo (Dave) Casey of Janesville, WI, brothers; David, Sr., Richard (Elizabeth), and Robert Diver, Sr. all of Cloquet, his grandson he lovingly raised, Thomas (Missi) Quaderer, 21 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

A wake service for Art will begin at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 30, 2015 and will continue until the 10:00 a.m. traditional burial service on Friday, May 1, all held at the Fond Du Lac Head Start in Cloquet. Spiritual leaders will be Obizaan (Lee) and Ombishkebines (Chato). Pallbearers for Art will be Dan Tiesses, Sr., Kevin Defoe, Sr., Nick Ammesmakie, Charles Badmoccasin, Keith Diver, Sr. and Kelly Diver. Honorary pallbearers include Joe Shavaiash, Sr., Daniel Shabaiash, Leslie Shabaiash, Paul Diver, Russell Diver, Keith Diver Jr., Pete Diver, Jr., Dereck Diver, Sr., LeRoy Shabaiash, and Paul Diver. Interment will be held in the Holy Family Catholic Cemetery following the service.
