Guilty pleas and sentences for Chippewa Cree Tribe corruption

Two people pleaded guilty and one person was sentenced as part of a wide-ranging corruption probe that targets the Chippewa Cree Tribe of Montana.

Melody Henry, the former president of Stone Child College, and her husband, Frank Henry, who used to work at the college, pleaded guilty to federal income tax fraud. They admitted they failed to pay taxes on all of their income and will face sentencing on July 27.

The guilty pleas came after a federal jury acquitted the Henrys on a variety of other charges after a trial in February. That case centered on alleged kickbacks that the couple had received.
