Red Lake School District #38 is accepting applications for two (2) Behavioral Interventionist:

JOB TITLE: Behavioral Interventionist

BUILDING: One position will be assigned to the Secondary Complex and one position will be assigned to the Ponemah School

REPORTS TO: Principal

TERMS: Per Teacher's Master Agreement

JOB PURPOSE: The Behavioral Interventionist position is responsible for assisting general education teachers in providing targeted and intensive support for students who are academically and/or behaviorally challenged and therefore, at risk for school success.

Qualifications

1. A Bachelor's Degree in education is required; or, a degree with a behavioral endorsement or emphasis is preferred.

2. The candidate should have five years of teaching experience that includes experience with American Indian children and or, children at risk for academic success.

3. The candidate should possess and demonstrate considerable knowledge of effective and varied teaching strategies, classroom accommodations, modifications, and varied assessment techniques.

4. The candidate must possess knowledge of various methods of data collection and subsequent analysis and interpretation of data to drive appropriate instructional and behavioral interventions.

5. Must possess ability to effectively observe student and teacher performance and provide feed- back to the teacher, parents, and administration to improve teaching and learning.

6. Must possess ability to effectively organize and present information both orally and in writing.

7. Must demonstrate ability to work effectively with parents.

Essential Duties:

1. Behavioral Interventionist will collaborate with School Psychologist and/or teachers licensed in the area of Emotional Behavioral Disorders to develop positive behavior interventions and supports for students in the ADSIS Program.

2. Provides direct services to identified students that may include instruction, monitoring behavior management systems and problem solving strategies.

3. Assists teachers in the identification and development of individualized/behavioral interventions intended to change behavior, using evidence based strategies to change behaviors.

4. Supports teachers in collecting required documentation for activities to include appropriate analysis of student progress, planning for and implementing behavior plans, and conducting data collection.

5. Collaborates with administration, teachers, and special education staff to identify, plan, and implement professional development activities and determine follow-up as needed.

6. Assists teachers in the development of instructional materials, accommodations, modifications, and assessments needed for students who are educated in the general education classroom setting.

7. Participates in eligibility and IEP meetings as required by Child Study Committee meetings, resulting in a continuum of services as determined.

 Completed District application and resume'.

 Documentation to support the qualifications requirements as listed above.

 Three letters of reference from former employers or other professional resources.

 Successful completion of employment interview.
