Rosebud tribal president removed

ROSEBUD | The Rosebud Sioux Tribal Council has removed President Cyril “Whitey” Scott from office.

The council took the action Tuesday, apparently resolving a period of uncertain leadership that afflicted the south-central South Dakota tribe for much of Scott’s time in office.

He won election in 2012 but was suspended in 2013 and had been entangled in various ethics-related proceedings since then.
