Sheldon Mason, 40, of Red Lake passed away Monday, April 13, 2015 at the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. He was born July 23, 1974 in Wenatchee, Washington, the son of Paul and Debra Grace (Burt) Mason, Sr.

Sheldon lived and met his wife Christy Jourdain in Red Lake, Minnesota. They were married on April 5, 2004 at HCMC. Sheldon was a wonderful husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He did various jobs here and there. He was a certified roofer and carpenter, he worked as a blackjack dealer for the Red Lake and Mystic Lake casino. Sheldon and his brothers Anthony and Casey started their own construction company called Mason, Inc. which he worked for until his accident. He and his wife, Christy, also owned a car lot. Sheldon loved to watch sports with his sons and also the food network channel and cooking with his sons. Sheldon loved to travel with his wife and kids to different places like Florida, Oklahoma and Kansas City. He also enjoyed going to stomp dances with his family. Sheldon loved to teach his sons how to work on vehicles, he always talked to his kids and nephews about things they needed to do in life as they got older. He loved going to bingo and the casino or just going for a ride. Sheldon had such a good spirit about everything and was always joking around with everyone. He was never lazy and was always willing to help others.

Preceding him in death are his parents; Debra Grace (Burt) and Paul Mason Sr., brother; Anthony Mason, grandparents; Ambrose and Adelle (Sumner) Mason and Everette and Joyce Ann (Vale) Burt, two special brothers; Lee Prentice and Doug Buckanaga.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife; Christy Jourdain, four sons; Sheldon Jr., Ari James, West and Camren Mason, god-daughter; Anika Charnoski, brothers; Paul Casey Jr. (Alexis), Ira (Dawndra) and Billy (Angelique) Mason, sisters; Fawn and Danni Mason, one special brother; Corey Chauncey Bradford, god-mother; Carol Staples, several nieces and nephews.

A wake for Sheldon will begin at 3:00 p.m., Friday, April 17th and continue until his 2:00 p.m. service on Saturday, April 18th all being held at the Red Lake Community Center in Red Lake. Reverend Barbara Newsom will officiate. Pallbearers for Sheldon will be Casey Mason II, Dana Mason, Ira Mason Jr., Billy Mason Jr. and Sabino Flores. Honorary pallbearers are Charlie Charnoski Jr., Robert May Jr., Dusty Core, William Lussier, Casey Mason and Ira Mason.
