Suspect in stabbing of Bureau of Indian Affairs official faces attempted murder charge

BISMARCK, North Dakota — A man accused of stabbing the Bureau of Indian Affairs superintendent on the Crow Creek Indian Reservation in South Dakota last month will stand trial in June on upgraded charges including attempted murder.

Brian Iron Boulder, 51, on April 8 pleaded not guilty to attempted murder of a federal employee, assault on a federal employee and assault resulting in serious bodily injury. If convicted he could be sentenced to 50 years in prison.

U.S. District Judge Roberto Lange scheduled the trial to begin June 2.
