BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — A federal judge has delayed sentencing for a transient man who admitted moving the body of a murdered Lame Deer woman on Montana’s Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation.
U.S. District Judge Susan Watters vacated Thursday’s sentencing after 36-year-old defendant Garrett Sidney Wadda submitted a last minute request for a new attorney.
Wadda made his request in a letter sealed by the court. He pleaded guilty last year to being an accessory after the fact for dumping the body of 21-year-old Hanna Harris at the Lame Deer rodeo grounds after she was killed in July 2013.
