Red Lake woman sentenced to six years for meth charge

BEMIDJI—A Red Lake woman arrested with more than 40 grams of methamphetamine in her possession in October has been sentenced to six years in prison.

Stormie Graves, 24, was convicted of felony first-degree possession of methamphetamine in Beltrami County District Court on March 30. She was sentenced to 74 months in the Minnesota Correctional Facility in Shakopee. Graves has been credited with 177 days time served and was ordered to pay a $50 fine.

Graves was arrested Oct. 4 outside a Bemidji residence after officers responded to a 911 call. During the call, officers detected the smell of marijuana coming from a vehicle parked in the driveway, court documents said. Graves was in the driver's seat of the car, where officers found approximately 13 grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Officers seized an additional 30 grams of meth concealed under Graves' shirt when she was transported to the Beltrami County Jail.
