This year's conference theme "The Power of Self Compassion" presented by Kathryn Gonzalez, is designed for caregivers: doctors, nurses, clinical psychologists, chiropractic staff, social workers, pastors, chaplains and students of the same disciplines. It will provide attendees a vehicle for generating ease, inner resilience and empowered action for a happier and self-fulfilling way of life. Kathryn will share practices and activities that invite you to experience first-hand, the power of self-compassion as a way to profoundly impact your life and the lives of those you touch, whether at work, home or play.

Kathryn Gonzalez, MS, CYT, has dedicated the last 15 years to the study of what leads people to thrive in their lives. Her journey has led her through explorations and teachings that include contemplative and heart-centered practices, holistic therapies, the science of consciousness, and the latest research in neuroscience, positive psychology, and well-being. She has led and supported the start-up of various group study circles in Compassionate and Nonviolent Communication (NVC), including an on-going NVC program for both men and women at the Eagle River jail in Eagle River, Wis. She leads workshops and classes in the United States and Puerto Rico and currently serves as coach and mentor to many, helping them build vibrant, thriving lives from the inside out.

Ministry of Caring of Bemidji was founded in 1997 by a group of energetic nurses, guided by a chaplain, who believed a yearly spiritual renewal opportunity was needed to remain effective in their role as caregivers. On average, one hundred caregiving professionals from Bemidji and surrounding areas annually attend Ministry of Caring conferences.

This year's sponsors are:

Northwest Technical College * Sanford Health of Northern MN * CHI St. Joseph's Area Health Services.

This conference has been designed to meet the Minnesota Board of Nursing continuing education requirements for 6.8 contact hours. For a printable brochure, visit: http://www.ministryofcaring.net, or contact Cheryl Yarnott 218-444-7091.
