Assault in City of Bemidji

On 04/06/2015 at 2:20pm, the Bemidji Police Department responded to 1600 Minnesota Ave NW (Boys and Girls Club) for a report of a possible stabbing victim that had walked into the building seeking assistance. Employees from the business assisted officers in providing first aid to the juvenile victim until he could be transported to Sanford Health of Bemidji.

While investigating the incident, Bemidji Police Detectives were able to determine the assault took place in or around the south parking lot of 1712 America Ave NW (JW Smith Elementary School). Detectives were also able to identify a suspect vehicle which led to the arrest of a juvenile suspect.

The suspect or victim has no current ties to the locations associated to the assault and there is no associated threat to the staff or students who frequent these locations. The names and condition of the juveniles will not be released at this time.
