Died: Tue., Mar. 31, 2015

Theodore Frank Roy, Jr., 65, of the Bear Clan, "Owashing Makwa" which means "Bear Sleeping in a Den", of Red Lake, Minnesota began his spiritual journey on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 from his son's home in Crystal, Minnesota. He was born, the son of Theodore Sr. and Gladys (Sumner) Roy, on July 17, 1949 in Red Lake, MN.

Ted was a light hearted, fun loving guy who was always joking around with people. He was constantly giving of himself to everyone. He didn't have much, but what he did have he spoiled his family with. Ted was a very good, loving and supportive Dad that never missed a single one of Rob's sporting events. He enjoyed riding around and going to the casino, watching his action and sci-fi movies and going to powwows. He loved listening to his classic rock music, sometimes for hours. Ted was very proud of his traditional native culture. He really loved his breakfast food and baked beans, at any time of the day, many times you could smell bacon and eggs frying at night. We are going to "miss that 'ol man".

Family welcoming him into the spirit world are his parents; Theodore, Sr. and Gladys.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his sons; Robert (Stacy) Roy of Crystal and Joseph Roy of Eden Prairie, his brothers; Al, Doug, Edward and Ted III, sisters; Kathy, Donna and Ramona, one granddaughter; Kayden Roy, a special niece; Diane (Ty) Stately, numerous friends and many other relatives.

A wake for Ted will begin at 12:00 p.m., Friday, April 3rd and continue until his traditional service at 10:00 a.m., Sunday, April 5th all being held at the Red Lake Community Center in Red Lake. Anna Gibbs will be his Spiritual Advisor.

Pallbearers for Ted are Michael Cook-Stately, Frank Stately, Robert Cook, Guy Stately, Jr., GoldenEagle Stately and Rain Stately. Alternate pallbearers are Brandon Stately and Donald Graves. His honorary pallbearers are William "Smutt" Fairbanks, Bruce Stately, Corey L. Stately, Michael O'Neal, Ty Stately, Richard Barrett and Norman Adams. Interment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery at Red Lake immediately following his Sunday service.

Theodore's care has been entrusted to Northern Peace Funeral Home of Walker. Online condolences for the family may be left at http://www.northernpeace.com
