Man found dead in south Minneapolis by police alerted to shots in area

A man was found dead late Tuesday in south Minneapolis after a report of shots fired, police said.

No one is in custody, said John Elder, a Minneapolis police spokesman at the scene. Homicide detectives were investigating early Wednesday, with at least three blocks blocked off with police tape.

The man was found outside a residence on 13th Avenue S., between 22nd and 24th streets, in the East Phillips neighborhood.
