April 8: Clear Up the Fog About Artist Residencies: A Simple Framework

If you are interested in having an artist work with your students, or if you are an artist interested in residencies, this workshop is for you. Presenter Margaret Burger is a local artist who has made art with kids of all ages in schools, clubs, libraries, and at festivals. Through trial, error, and trouble-shooting, she’s come up with a simple framework and a series of handouts that help make artist residency procedures and processes clearer for teachers, artists, administrators, and program directors. Wednesday, April 8 from 6:15-7:45 p.m. at The Fireside Grill and Patio in Bagley on Hwy 2. RSVP with Region 2 Arts Council by 4/6/15.

April 11: Financial Assessment and Planning for Small Arts Organizations with Nonprofits Assistance Fund presenter Phil Hatlie

At this interactive training designed specifically for small arts organizations, Nonprofits Assistance Fund will teach arts organizations to:

· Read key financial reports including the balance sheet and income statement

· Understand the accounting rules governing restricted funds

· Clarify financial roles and responsibilities

· Use trends to get a picture of your organization’s future

· Recognize the components of business models in your organization and how they work together

· Communicate your financial position in a way that accurately tells your organization’s story.

(If your organization has completed the Cultural Data Project (CDP) to demonstrate these financial concepts, please bring copies of your trend reports).

April 16: Mnartists.org Website How-To Workshop. Artists, enhance your online presence! Be the first to learn how to make the most of the NEW, completely redesigned MnArtists.org website. This workshop will be facilitated by staff at mnartists.org. Bemidji High School Computer Lab, Thursday April 16, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. RSVP by 4/14/15.
