BEMIDJI -- Out with the old and in with the new.
The Bemidji School Board in a special meeting on Monday approved the sale of Deer Lake Elementary and then minutes later approved a purchase agreement for land upon which the district’s new fourth- and fifth-grade elementary school will be constructed.
Deer Lake Elementary is set to be sold for $550,000 to Cedar Path Holdings, which, according to district staff, plans to use the site for non-residential family empowerment activities and social services offices. Closing is scheduled for Aug. 3.
