Shantaye Rose May, 15, of Red Lake, Minnesota passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth with her family by her side. She was born, the daughter of Rick May and Nicole Stillday, on November 8, 1999 in Bemidji, Minnesota.

Shantaye loved hanging out with her friends, taking pictures, being on facebook and snapchat. She was very funny. Shantaye liked to babysit and taking walks. She like to play basketball. Shantaye loved cooking. She was always there for people that were down. Shantaye was really good with kids. She will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

Shantaye is reunited with her brother Eric Lee Strong, Jr., grandmas; Connie Stillday and June "Tiny" May, great grandma Mary Jane Stillday, uncle; Donald "Dudie" May and aunt Colleen Strong.

She leaves behind her mother Nicole Stillday of Red Lake, her father Rick May of Red Lake, brothers; Brayden Strong, Kordaye Stillday and Patrick May all of Red Lake, sisters; Eryka Strong, Ericka May, Roselynn May and Ricki May all of Red Lake, aunties; Sherrill Stillday, Bonnie May, Denise May, Jessica May, Amanda May, Emmylou May, Heather Stillday and Marla Neadeau, uncles; Chris May, Dean May, Tony May, Sr., Vernon May, Greg Barrett, Rodney Stillday, Sr., Reginald Stillday, Paul Stillday and Lee Neadeau, many other family members and too many friends to name.

An overnight wake for Shantaye will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 30th and continue until her 3:00 p.m. funeral service on Wednesday, April 1st all being held at the Red Lake Community Center in Red Lake. Father George Ross will officiate. Helping to lay her to rest are Vernon May, Lee Neadeau, Rodney Stillday, Jr., Douglas Dudley, Jr., Ryan Jones, Glenn Fairbanks, Chris May, Andrew May, Trevor Stillday and Zach Head. Alternate pallbearers are Rodney "Max" Stillday, Sr. and Gary Teigland. Her honorary pallbearers are Vicki Juarez, Roselynn May, Heather Stillday, Aaliyah May, Drew May-Johnson, Trista Jackson, Sherrill Stillday, Marla Neadeau, Kara Cook, Jessica May, Bonnie May, Michelle Strong, Kaleigha Sayers, Eryka Strong, Gerilyn Lussier, Shalana Neadeau, Jaiden Roberts and all her other close friends. Interment will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery at Red Lake immediately following her service.
