Two arrested, one still sought in Onamia killing

ONAMIA — Two suspects are under arrest and a third is being sought in connection with a March 2 homicide in this lakeside town on far southern edge of the Mille Lacs Reservation.

The suspects were taken into custody Thursday in a coordinated series of arrests and remain in custody in Mille Lacs County.

"Our officers have been actively working this investigation for the last several weeks and that work resulted in the arrests we made today," said Mille Lacs Band Tribal Police Chief Jared Rosati in a news release late Thursday afternoon. "The investigation is still ongoing as we are seeking a third suspect. Due to the active nature of the case, we are not yet releasing any additional information on the suspects that were apprehended today."
