Court considering mental status of Bemidji murder suspect

BEMIDJI -- A Bemidji man facing felony murder charges for the death of a Redby woman in February appeared in Beltrami County District Court on Friday.

Brian Jourdain, 25, faces two counts of second-degree murder for allegedly stabbing Krista Fisherman multiple times on Feb. 13. Fisherman was found lying on a Bemidji street at about 7:15 p.m. and pronounced dead at Sanford Bemidji Medical Center 30 minutes later. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner's office ruled Fisherman's death as a homicide caused by exsanguination, or the loss of blood, as a result of a stab wound to the leg.
