Louis Lavern Jenkins, Sr., age 75, of Cass Lake, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at the Cass Lake Hospital with his family by his side. He was born on July 28, 1939 in Cass Lake, the son of George and Elizabeth (Quincy) Jenkins.

Louis was a devoted husband whose favorite hobby was taking care of his grandchildren. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and he also liked to go fishing, ricing, netting, and snaring rabbits. Louis was also very good at making Maple Syrup.

Those family members that he joins again are his parents; George and Elizabeth, brothers; Robert, Charles, Melvin Quincy, Royal Rock and an infant brother, Eugene, sisters; Genevieve, Rose, and an infant sister, sons; Lois Jenkins, Jr., Duane Jenkins, Richard Littlewolf Sr., Robert McKennett, and Robert Jenkins, grandchildren; Richard Littlewolf, Jr. and Darren Fisherman, Sr., also an adopted mother; Josie Ryan.

Family he leaves behind include his wife; Susan Jenkins of Cass Lake, son; Raymond (Cherlene) Jenkins, Sr. of Cass Lake, daughters; Louise McKennett of Cass Lake, Jennifer Jenkins of Cass Lake, and Shannon Jenkins of Minneapolis, brothers; James Ryan of Rapid City, SD, Sam Jenkins of Minneapolis, George, Jr. (Carol) Jenkins of Cass Lake, Maynard Jenkins of Bemidji, Tony (Audrey) Jenkins of Cass Lake, and Nathan (Betty) Jenkins of Deer River, 22 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren.

A wake for Lois will begin at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 14, 2015 and will continue until the 11:00 a.m. service on Monday, February 16, all at the Veteran's Memorial Building in Cass Lake. Pallbearers will be Louis Jenkins III, B-Ray Jenkins, Jr., Raymond Jenkins, George Jenkins III, Jared Egan, and Donald Headbird. Alternate pallbearers are Derrick Hunt and Joe Bellanger. Honorary pallbearers will be all his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Interment will be held in the spring at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Cass Lake, MN.
