Troy Alan Goodthunder, "Wakinyan Waste" (Thunder Good) age 48, of Redwood Falls Journeyed to the Spirit World on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at The Redwood Area Hospital in Redwood Falls, Minnesota.

He was born on October 28, 1966 in Minneapolis, Minnesota the son of Richard G. & Carole A. (Blue) Goodthunder.

Troy was an Army Veteran. He served in Germany for six years. He also was a member of The American Legion and was an honor guard of the Lower Sioux Veterans. He volunteered at the non-profit organization Dakota Wicohan (Dakota way of life).

Survived by his wife: Laverne Goodthunder of Granite Falls; two children: Winona Goodthunder and Vanessa Goodthunder of Redwood Falls; a brother: Richard C. (Charlene) Goodthunder of Lower Sioux; a sister: Jenny Goodthunder of Granite Falls; nieces and nephews:: Helena Goodthunder, Molly Monzon, Alicia (Robert) Halvorson, Lisa (Pete) Nez and Richard J. Goodthunder; other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, his uncle Wayne Goodthunder, his aunt: Janice Gentry and by his nephew: Antonio Goodthunder.

Funeral services for Troy Alan Goodthunder will be held on Saturday, February 14th, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at The Lower Sioux Multi Purpose Community Center. Pastor John Roberts will officiate. Interment will follow with military rites at The St. Cornelia's Episcopal Cemetery. A lunch will follow at 2:00 P.M. at The Jackpot Junction Casino.

A wake will be held on Saturday, February 14th beginning at 10:00 A.M. until time of services at The Lower Sioux Multi Purpose Community Center.

Honorary Casket Bearers will be Robin Blue, Glen Foss, Richard "Cuda" Berry, Rodney Berry, Lower Sioux Veterans and "Dugan" Dow.

Casket Bearers will be Don Prescott, Gary Prescott, David "Butch" Larsen, Denny Prescott, Richard J. Goodthunder and Ben "Big Ben" O'Brien.
