Seraphine Ann Chosa, 62, "OZAWAAKOONZ" which means "Brown Bear Cub", of Cass Lake, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, February 8, 2015. Seraphine was born in White Earth, Minnesota on September 1, 1952 to John and Sophie (Fairbanks) Stone.

Seraphine was always a happy lady. She liked to play cards and go to the casino to play Keno. She enjoyed going to pow-wows. Seraphine liked cruisin'...and finding "short cuts"... that weren't actually short cuts. But most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Sophie, a daughter; Stephanie, brothers; Marvin and William "Billy" Stone, sisters; Bernadine Stone, Geraldine Stone and Maxine Partridge and her special friend Richard Butz.

Seraphine is survived by her ex-husband Brian Chosa and Albert Cochrane, sons; Sean (Josie Feather) Cochrane and Albert Foodge Cochrane, daughters; Sophie (Jeremy Smith) Cochrane, Jennifer Chosa, Bryanne (Derek) Washington and Stephanie (Michael Warrior) Chosa, brothers; Merlin and John "Bugg" Stone, sisters; Darlene, Betty Ann and Pauline Stone and Jolene Ajootion, special grand baby Janessa White, special nieces Candace White and Lorina Campbell, 28 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

An overnight wake for Seraphine will begin at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 10, 2015 and continue until her 10:00 a.m. service on Thursday, February 12th all being held at the Veterans Memorial Building in Cass Lake. Allen Hardy will be her Spiritual Leader. Pallbearers for Seraphine will be Michael Martin, Joe Campbell, O.J. Campbell, Koosh, Mike Newago and Ernie Dunn. Her honorary pallbearers are all her children, all her grandchildren, Judy Fairbanks, Sharon Declusion, Shirley and Ruby. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
