POSITION OBJECTIVES:

Under the general supervision of the F&B Manager is responsible to conduct F&B training sessions of Seven Clans Casino Thief River Falls.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assists with the planning, development, and implementation of the property's all F&B Employees Orientation and other training programs for staff. Formulates teaching outlines and determines instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, lectures.

• Selects or develops teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorial. Conducts training sessions covering specified areas involving appropriate communications methods for situations, problem identification and solving, interpersonal skills, quality & process issues, and product knowledge.

• Provides continual evaluation of processes and procedures and provides suggestions for methods to improve the quality of leadership, area operations, efficiency and service.

• Responsible for administrative tasks, such as tracking internal and/or external training opportunities, maintaining class materials and trainee records on an as needed basis.

• Formulates training outlines as needed for job standards to ensure all employees understand and have the skills to provide quality internal and external customer service. Complies with all applicable regulations, laws, internal policies/procedures, and internal control protocols. Enforces organizational policies and procedures; recognizes and constructively conforms to written rules or practices.

• Equipment Knowledge: May require the knowledge, skills, and abilities to work with personal computers, networked systems, The ability to identify deficiencies in Micros operations among employees and Supervisors and instruct those individuals on proper procedures accordingly,

& other department related equipment.

• Knowledge and/or willingness to train job specific equipment such as our POS Micros system for both the restaurant and Malt shop along with established procedures for level of access and specific functions such as closing reports, voiding procedures, credit card and check transactions; and has the ability to apply this specific knowledge in training techniques with new employees as part of the Orientation program.

• Food Safety and Health Standards: Should have working knowledge of proper food handling and safety practices as well as the ability to not only demonstrate those behaviors but identify areas of improvement in those processes, make recommendations and train staff accordingly to ensure only the highest quality of food and service are delivered to each guest. Identify areas in back of the house operations that are of concern such as improper rotation of stock, improper holding temperatures and inadequate storing of inventory in the coolers, freezers and holding units.

• Food Preparation and Service Knowledge: Able to demonstrate proper knowledge of how food is handled upon delivering to our guests, understand and assist back of the house staff in developing appropriate timing in the line cook operations to ensure food is prepared and orders ready at the same time avoiding service delays, waste control, maintaining proper food temperatures from preparation to service, and efficient expediting skills with the ability to transfer this knowledge to new employees as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

It is required the Trainer have at least a two year vocational degree or high School Diploma or GED with related experience preferred. Technical school or formal culinary apprenticeship may be required.
