Loren Wayne Kingbird, Sr., whose Indian name is Ikiiweenzl which means "old man," 49, of Ponemah, MN entered the spirit world on Monday, January 26, 2015 at the Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, N.D.

Traditional Indian Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 31, 2015, at the Ponemah Boys and Girls Club in Ponemah, MN. A wake will begin in the afternoon on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at the Ponemah Boys and Girls Club and will continue until the services. Burial will be in the Family Burial Grounds in Ponemah, MN. Cease Family Funeral Home of Blackduck assisted the family with arrangements.

Active pallbearers will be Bob Erle, Curtis Smith, Louis Kingbird, Jr., Edward Cloud, Wallace Kingbird, III, Llewellyn Kingbird, Russell Erle, Jr. and Meredith Kingbird, with Tyler RoseBear and Terrance French as alternates.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Thomas Charnoski, Sr., Mary Charnoski, Theodore Graves, Sr., Harold Raincloud, Sr., and the Red Lake Dialysis Unit.

Loren was born on September 16, 1965 into the Eagle Clan in Red Lake, MN, the son of Wallace Kingbird, Sr. and Ella Marie (Cloud) Kingbird. He graduated from Red Lake High School in 1989 and from the Northwest Technical Institute in Bemidji with a certificate in Heavy Equipment Operation in 1992. He also went to school for plumbing. He worked as a security guard in Warroad and Thief River Falls for the Red Lake Casinos, was a teacher's aide in the Ponemah School and also was a bus aide. He loved to hunt and ice fish; gamble and joke around. He loved cruising around, playing games on Facebook and watching wrestling.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy Kingbird; two sons, Kyle (Megan Martin) French and Loren Kingbird, Jr.; four brothers, Gary Kingbird, Norman Kingbird, Tom (Mary) Charnoski and Merlin (Shannon) Kingbird; and a sister, Lisa (Darren) French; and his Godmother, Judy Roy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace Kingbird, Sr. and Ella Kingbird; a brother, Wallace Kingbird, Jr.; and his grandfather and grandmother.
