Frank William "Bill" Kinney, Jr.

Memorial Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Mary of the Visitation Catholic Church in Becker for Frank William "Bill" Kinney, Jr., age 90, who passed away Thursday at the St. Cloud VA Medical Center Hospice Unit. Rev. Eugene Doyle will officiate and burial will be at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Little Falls at a later date. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services Tuesday at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Becker.

Frank William "Bill" Kinney, Jr. was born May 8, 1924 in Minneapolis to Frank William Kinney, Sr. and Irene Harriet Brennan. He was promoted to captain while serving our country in the Army Air Force during WWII as a P-47 fighter pilot. Bill married Della Marie Barrett on March 17, 1971 in Minneapolis and they lived in Eden Prairie until they moved to Becker after retiring. Bill had previously worked in sales management for Artic Cat and the Jari Corporation. He was an avid sportsmen who enjoyed being active in most sports including hunting, fishing and sailing. He earned a football scholarship to Montana State University.

Survivors include his wife, Della of Becker; sons, James (Kathy) of Mound and Jeffrey (Leann) of Minnetonka; step children, Gary Wick, Shar Benson, Leslie Ripple, Mary-Leah Cram, Michael Wick and Kathleen Eicher all of Minneapolis, 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Marcine Bailey.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at the St. Cloud VA Hospice Unit 48 for the excellent care given to Bill.
