Roy "Butch" Henry Beaulieu, 73 years old, passed away at his home in Bemidji on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 with his family by his side. He was born on February 4, 1941 in Cass Lake, the son of George and Ida (Fairbanks) Beaulieu.

Butch liked hunting, fishing, ricing, going to the casino and playing in Black Jack tournaments. He also worked on cars and drove stock car for many years. Butch was a wonderful drawer and he had many works of art. He liked working cross word puzzles, collecting dictionaries, wood burning, berry and pine cone picking, and almost anything that would get him outside.

Butch was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Fairbanks, parents; Ida and George, daughters; Brenda and Rhonda Fairbanks, brothers; Kenny and Anson Beaulieu and a granddaughter Baby Rhonda Fairbanks.

He is survived by his daughters; Janice and Amanda Fairbanks of Bemidji, Melody Hanners of Rochester and Toni Wind of Red Lake, sons; Gary Wind of Bemidji, Joseph (Stephanie) Fairbanks, Jr. of Cass Lake, and Carl Fairbanks, Sr. of Bemidji, children that helped to raise, Aaron, Andrew, Ashley, Brian, plus numerous great grandchildren, brothers; Larry (Connie) Beaulieu of Cass Lake, and David (Genny) Beaulieu of Bemidji, sisters; Margaret Hardy of Cass Lake, Shirley and Donna Beaulieu of Bemidji, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

A wake service for Butch will begin at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 6, 2014 and will continue until the 2:00 p.m. service all at the New Bug School/Mission Community Center on Monday, December 8. Rev. Mark R. Olson will officiate. Pallbearers for Butch will be Billy Beaulieu, Brain Fairbanks, Aaron Fairbanks, Joseph Fairbanks, Eric Wind, and Carl Fairbanks. Honorary pallbearers will be all his grandchildren and all his hunting crew. Interment will be held in the Sugar Bush Cemetery in Bemidji following the service on Monday.
