Veronica "Roni" Lee Jones, 60 years old of Cass Lake, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at the IHS Hospital in Cass Lake. Roni was born on February 25, 2014 in Cloquet, MN, the daughter of Mervel and Rose (LaRose) Jones.

Roni grew up Cloquet until she was 13 years old when her family moved to Cass Lake. She attended school in Cass Lake and obtained a two year degree following school. Roni enjoyed playing bingo. She and Robert would travel all over to go and play and stay at different casinos. She loved the time she would get with her family, friends and most importantly, her grandchildren. Each and every one had a great respect for grandma. Roni would spend time reading books and helping people out even if it meant giving her last dollar.

Roni was preceded in death by her parents; Mervel and Rose, sons; Peter John Jones and Jesse Lee Jones, sister; Roxanne LaRose, brother; Mervel Jones, Jr., and her grandparents.

She is survived by her husband; Robert Brown of Cass Lake, sons; Dwight Jones, John Jones, Robert Jones, and Cory Jones all of Cass Lake, daughters; Roxanne and Dawna Jones both of Cass Lake, brother; Tom Jones of Cass Lake, sisters; Sandy (Alvin Roy) Woodward of Cass Lake, Carol Jones of Cass Lake, and Diana (Steve) Bakk of Minneapolis, 15 grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

A wake service for Roni will begin at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 26, 2014 and will continue until the 11:00 a.m. service on Friday, all at the Veteran's Memorial Building in Cass Lake. Rev. Richard Cuttbank will officiate. Pallbearers for Roni will be Jay Nordmarken, Elijah Carrillo, Cory Jones, Bobby Jones, Jr. Rushman, Moonie Brown, Luke Woodward and Chris Barrett. Honorary pallbearers will be all her family, friends and grandchildren. Interment will be held in the LaRose Family Cemetery in Cass Lake following the service.
