Marilyn Wharton

(February 22, 1951 - November 7, 2014)

Marilyn Wharton, age 63, of Mahnomen, MN, died Friday, November 7, 2014, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Marilyn LaVonne Blue was born February 22, 1951, in White Earth, MN, to Lester and Gladys (Sargent) Blue. She grew up and attended school in the Minneapolis, MN, area. Following high school, Marilyn worked at the post office for some time. She was then employed by a number of different places before returning to the united postal system in 1982. While working at the post office, Marilyn became reacquainted with an old friend, Charles Snabb. They worked in the same building and their friendship blossomed into what it is today. The couple made their home together in the twin cities until last year. Charlie retired in 2011 and Marilyn's health began declining with a diagnosis of cancer a second time.

Marilyn was a kind hearted, loving person with a wonderful personality. Her sense of humor was great and she was known to put others needs before her own. However, when it came to her flower garden, Marilyn would beam with pride and self-worth in her accomplishment. She also enjoyed going to rummage sales and spending time at the casino.

Marilyn is survived by her son, Scott Blue of Minneapolis; significant other, Charles Snabb of Mahnomen; three brothers: Lester (Linda) Blue, Dale Blue, both of Waubun, and Ron Blue of Mahnomen; four sisters: Adrienne "Renie" Blue of Mahnomen, Phyllis (Jeff) Wark of Naytahwaush, Janet Blaisdell of Brooklyn Park, MN, and Dawn Meyer of North Port, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Larry Blue.
