CHEMICAL HEALTH PROGRAMS

Indian & Free Prevention/Treatment Program

OPEN: November 7, 2014

Primary Function:

Counsels and assist clients in the development of treatment plans and reaching goals. Reports to Indian & Free Prevention/Treatment Program, Supervisor and Chemical Health Programs, Executive Director. Full-time position with full benefits, Salary DOQ.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties:

• Assist clients in the development of treatment plans, goals and make periodic revisions when necessary.

• Conduct client intake, assist in the orientation of all new clients.

• Maintain an active caseload and update current client files; responsible for recording and reporting all encounters with clients.

• Assist in the development of cultural, prevention, recreational activities for all ages, reservation wide.

• Organize and facilitate group activities for all schools and reservation wide.

• Must document all activities and submit to appropriate personnel on time.

• Conduct lectures, individual, group and family counseling sessions on scheduled days.

• Must be able to report on required forms for funding agencies.

• Respond to referrals made by other social services agencies.

• Inform court advocate of all court referrals.

• Transport clients to detoxification and treatment centers as needed.

• Make proper referrals for the best interest of the client; provide information and referrals to clients when necessary.

• Must attend all mandatory training and workshops as scheduled.

• Conduct Rule 25 assessments.

• Be on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

• Maintain strict confidentiality of all clients at all times pursuant to CFR 42, Part 2.

• Refrain from all mood altering chemicals when employed by the Chemical Health Program-Indian & Free Prevention/Treatment Program.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• GED or High School Diploma.

• Must have at least two (2) years sobriety.

• Must be a certified Rule 25 assessor.

• Must have knowledge of DAANES forms.

• At least one (1) year counseling experience; must be familiar with confidentiality rules and regulations.

• Must have valid drivers license and auto insurance.

• Must participate in mandatory alcohol/drug testing when called upon.

• Must have good work ethics.

• Must understand the Red Lake Tribal Personnel Policies & procedures and the Chemical Health Programs Chain of Command.

• Employment contingent upon successfully passing Pre-Employment Drug/Alcohol Test and Background Check.
