Mask and Rose Theater of Puposky to present "Labels" on Nov. 15th

The Mask and Rose Theater of Puposky, MN presents an original , derived physical theater work entitled “Labels” on Nov. 15th, 6:30 PM at The Long Lake Theater in Hubbard, MN.

The tendency to classify and categorize objects is a deeply ingrained aspect of human nature.The problem is really statistics 101: whenever you convert a continuous measure into discrete categories, you lose valuable information.

We inhabit a world in which we tend to put labels on each other and expect that we will then march through life wearing them like permanent sandwich boards.

This original theater work explores through masks, movement, spoken word, dance, and multimedia the concept of how humans label each other.

The cost is a free with limited seating. The play is directed and created by Cate Belleveau as fulfillment of her McKnight Artist Fellowship appropriated via the Region 2 Arts Council and attendance at Dell Arte International School of Physical Theater in Blue Lake , CA. in July.

It features dance by Bemidji dancer Katie Carter and creative work by actors Lonnie Sorrell, Maddie Treuer, Ivan Smith, Cate Belleveau, Katie Carter, Tiffany Barta, and Bobbie Hallett.
