Primary Function:

Work within the Entrepreneur Program to assist with the delivery of technical assistance, business education, and entrepreneurial resources. Striving to develop and maintain profitable and self-sustaining Red Lake Band member businesses within the Red Lake Nation economy. Reports to the Director of Economic Development & Planning, Pay scale: $40,000-$50,000 yearly.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties:

• Provide entrepreneurial services as outlined in the Program Manual. Providing technical assistance, coaching, and training in the areas of business plan development, financial literacy, finance packaging, management, marketing, technology, and accounting.

• Provide services to both start-up and existing band member owned businesses.

• Effective analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and clients.

• Assist clients with locating and applying for business financing; helping them through the loan application process.

• Help with teaching clients on a one-to-one basis or in a classroom setting; assisting with development and presentation of educational classes and workshops.

• Assist with documentation and maintenance of entrepreneurial activities in Quickbooks, to assist the program with measurement and evaluation of program impact.

• Continuous monitoring of the business environment: analyze reports, trends, and data that will keep the program abreast of changes. Watching for and developing opportunities and resources that will benefit the entrepreneurs.

• Well-developed oral and written communication skills; able to present appropriate and concise information, meet specified deadlines, and work well under pressure.

• Assist with marketing and promoting program activities to the community.

• Work with the Small Business Development Manager, to define and achieve annual objectives, schedules, and overall strategies for effective delivery of services.

• Be an effective Economic Development & Planning team member and maintain effective communication with the Small Business Development Manager.

• Trustworthy with confidential client and tribal information.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor Degree in a business related field with 2 years of business experience, or 4 years experience managing a business.

• Complete financial analysis knowledge of balance sheet and income statement including actual vs. budgeted.

• Able to work with Windows Office and Quickbooks software.

• One or more years experience in marketing and/or graphic design work is a plus.

• Knowledge of Adobe Suite, Illustrator, Photo Shop, Indesign, and/or flash is a plus.

• American Indian Preference.
