Blackduck falls, Bagley wins in playoff openers

BLACKDUCK - A three-touchdown third-quarter deficit proved to be too much for Blackduck in their Section 7A playoff game Tuesday, and Barnum eliminated the Drakes with a 38-28 victory.

Blackduck, which finishes the season 5-4, got off to a poor start as Barnum (4-5) scored the first 22 points of the game, including a 14-0 halftime lead.

The Bombers took a 22-0 lead with 8:09 to go in the fourth quarter before the Drakes got on the scoreboard on Cooper Jedlicka's touchdown run, cutting Barnum's lead to 22-6, but the Bombers scored two more times in the fourth quarter to make it 30-6 and give Blackduck a big mountain to climb.

Tanner Depew scored a touchdown on the ensuing kick return to give the Drakes some hope, making it 30-12, but the Bombers added another touchdown on the next drive to all but put it out of reach.

Jedlika scored a late touchdown for the Drakes while Levi Dexter also scored to make it a 38-28 final score.
