Body found in Mahnomen County

The body of an unidentified man was found in Thursday afternoon in the village of Naytahwaush, Minn.

Mahnomen County Sheriff’s Department said the body was found shortly after 5:50 p.m., Thursday. The body was taken to the Grand Forks County coroner’s office to determine a positive identification and cause of death, according to the report.

The sheriff’s office did not speculate as to whether or not the body could be that of 31-year-old Francis William Brown III, a Mahnomen County man who was reported missing about two weeks ago.

The sheriff’s office has scheduled a news conference at noon today at the Mahnomen County Courthouse.
